Learning to Breathe

A Poem by Meg Coyle Irsay

This plan you have for staying calm cannot get through you’ll need a bomb

You’ll need a crisis and lots of time, to balance all this yours or mine

This plan that you’ve have been driving hard, cannot release you from your guard

This plan you built out of the sticks your parents gave you brick by brick

has taken you right up to the wall but can never take you through

the opening is too small

Your fear of uncertainty has pulled your will tight

And your wild heart now works for the  fight

It was that or turn around and flee but that is no way to remember you’re free

The plan you have to keep your calm cannot be made

It must be found.
